In support of BARK NZ, I put up a dog portrait prize for their silent auction at a fundraising event.

These beautiful creatures are part of the family that won my Pet Portrait auction item :)

From their website: “BARK NZ is currently New Zealand’s only registered charity dedicated to providing free dog safety and animal assisted education.”

Their focus is to work with children under 12 years old, and to reduce dog bite injuries through education. They’ve also helped the employees of a number of companies too, reducing dog bite injuries in injury prone fields such as garbage collection, and delivery services.

Heather, the founder of BARK NZ, has been widely recognised for her tireless work too. She’s appeared on TV One’s “Good Sorts” segment, and also won a “Kiwi Bank 2016 New Zealand Local Hero of the year” award for her work.

Have a browse of the BARK NZ website, and go like their Facebook Page!
